VTCITE & VITA-Learn Regional Meetings

Hi Everyone: Hope the opening of school has been as smooth as possible.
 I am now in the process of scheduling Regional Meetings.  These
meetings are NOT just for VTCITE participants but rather for all people in the
region who support or are interested in technology integration.  Although
we will talk about VTCITE, that will not be the main focus of the meeting.
 The people in each region will determine what will be on their agenda.
 The idea is to build/strengthen the professional learning community
through face-to-face meetings.Below is a summary of where we are with
scheduling...

  • Central
    Region - We have scheduled a meeting on September 13th in the Central Region at
    the Main Street Middle School. Sue Monmaney and Bob Sargent are the main
    contacts for this meeting.
  • Northwest
    Region - We are in the process of scheduling a meeting in the Northwest Region. We will meet from 8:30 - 11:30 on September 28 in the Conference Room at the CSSU Central Office in Shelburne.
  • Northeast
    Region - I am working with Jerry Piette to schedule a meeting in this region.
  • Southeast
    Region - I am working with John Minelli to schedule a meeting in this region.
    He and Jane Wilde are putting their heads together on this one.  Watch for
    an announcement soon.
  • Southwest
    Region -  Ceil Hunt is helping out in this region.
     We are still trying to determine if we will split this region in two.
     Stay tuned.

All of these people, but especially in the south which is very
geographically disperse, could use assistance in identifying people in their
region who support technology integration in their schools.  If you know
of anyone, please let us know by replying to this message with potential names
along with the region. As  always, please let me know if you have any
questions.

Southwest Meeting

Hello All,

The Southwest Regional Meeting will take place at Castleton State College in Stafford Academic Center Room 139 on Thursday, October 11th.  The meeting will be held from 4-6PM and we will have light refreshments!  Joining us will be Bill Romond.  Katie Duggan from ARSU will also bring us some news about E-Rate changes.  She just got back from a training in Boston.  Please join us.

Great NW Meeting

I took some extensive notes at this meeting and am working with ED Bianchi who also took minutes to provide a comprehensive 21st century  style minutes of this meeting.  I'd like to include hyperlink to many of the projects you all mentioned, as well as a hyperlink to all the districts or schools who were represented.  Many of you commented on new district web site and many teacher web page initiatives.  It would be great to be able to click on hyperlinks of some of these products and examples.   I personally am dying to see Charlie's new tech plan that does not use the word "computer" once!  Would this be a place where members could reply with links or is there a different more appropriate location.  I noticed this location does not allow "uploading" of documents as attachments.
