How to create a group

Any authenticated user may create a group. Following are the steps.
- Click "Create a Group." This is the a bullet under you name in the right hand navigation bar.
- The "Submit group" opens.
- Enter a "Group name."
- Enter a "Description" for the group. This description will be seen when the group is opened and in the groups' directory.
- Enter a "Welcome message." This message will be sent to any authenticated user who becomes a member of this group. Consider including any information the user might need to participate effectively in the group.
- Optional "Upload Images:" You can add an image to your group page by clicking attached images.
- Click "Choose file"
- A typical "open" window will
appear. Navigate through your computer files to find and select the
image file you want to use. Click choose. - Give the image a title that will appear with the image. This is not necessarily the name of the file.
- Choose how "Subscription requests" are handled. Do you want anyone to be able to join? Do you want to accept/deny requests to join? Do you want to reserve the group for those who you invite? Do you want to assign membership? Click the bubble next to your selection.
- Choose how authenticated users can find your group using any of the following 3 check boxes. Choose "registration form" if the group is open or moderated and you want people to see to option to subscribe to the group when they join vtcite. Choose list in "groups directory" if you want the group listed in the group directory. Choose "private group" if you don't want the group to be visible to non members.
- Optional "File attachments"
- Click "Choose file"
- A typical "open" window will
appear. Navigate through your computer files to find and select the file you want to attach to your group main page. Click choose. - Choose "Attach."
- Submit. Click permit to create your group.
