National Geographic

Description:

As a child and even as an adult one of my favorite magazines was National Geographic. Their website is like the magazine on steroids. There is a plethora of information about our planet from countries, cultures, and customs to science and space.

There are games and activities for children, quizzes about your geographic IQ and even a video about ancient and current ROME. You can visit with the Wodaabe of Nigeria, take a ride on the Thames, and see the tombs of ancient Egypt.

This is just a terrific site.

History Channel

Description:

The History Channel Website has more than historic information, just like its television Channel. You can learn about Science and Technology and how they have developed over time. You can see an enactment of the Salem Witch Trials, learn about holidays and other cultures and of course the present. If you click on the Classroom button, there is information about media literacy and study guides to many of the History Channel offerings.
